Empower the next generation of bilingual educators with a $1,000 scholarship—nominate a future dual language teacher today!
CABE and Vista are thrilled to offer a $1,000 scholarship to high school students currently interning as tutors in Dual Language Immersion Programs. If you know a standout student who dreams of becoming a bilingual teacher, this is a fantastic opportunity for them! The CABE/Vista Future Dual Language Education (DLE) Teacher Scholarship celebrates students committed to pursuing a bilingual teaching credential. Nominations can be made by CABE members, chapter leaders, or regional representatives.
Help us inspire and support the next generation of bilingual educators. If you’re a CABE member, you can nominate deserving students who are ready to make a difference in the world of education. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, November 16, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
All candidates must:
- Be a resident of California
- Want to enter a bilingual authorization/credential program
- Be currently enrolled in high school providing an internship as a tutor in a Dual Language Elementary, Middle School, or High School program.
- May have a financial need
Required Nomination Documents
- A letter of recommendation from a current professional reference (e.g., teacher, program coordinator, or current supervisor) stating volunteer experience in the school.
- A high-resolution (300 ppi or greater) photo of the applicant (head and shoulders)
- A “Future Dual Language Education Teacher Application” must be submitted by Thursday, November 16, 2024.
- All applicants must provide a short video (no more than 1 minute) addressing the importance of bilingual education.
- All applicants must sign a media release form that allow the use of video and image for promotional materials
Timeline
- Teachership applications must be submitted by Thursday, November 16, 2024.
- Winners will be notified on or after Friday, January 5, 2025.
- Winners will be invited to attend the CABE Awards Luncheon at the CABE 2025 conference in Long Beach, CA where they will be recognized and presented with their award alongside their scholarship sponsor on Thursday, March 27, 2025
