As a new academic year begins, language instructors are balancing familiar priorities with new opportunities. Whether the focus is increasing student engagement, encouraging learner independence, or demonstrating the lasting value of language study, instructors continue to adapt their teaching to meet the needs of today’s students.
This fall, Vista Higher Learning is bringing together instructors, thought leaders, and advocates from across the language education community for a webinar series centered on the topics shaping higher education language programs. Through practical discussions and shared experiences, participants will explore ideas, strategies, and trends influencing language teaching and learning today.
Exploring the Topics That Matter Most
The series kicks off with a conversation on intentional course design and the foundations of effective language instruction.
Additional sessions throughout the fall will cover topics including:
- Student engagement and participation in the language classroom
- Developing learner autonomy and self-directed learning habits
- Emerging trends and timely conversations in language education
- The growing role of micro-credentials in higher education
- Increasing the visibility and relevance of world language programs across campus
Together, these conversations are intended to spark new ideas, encourage reflection, and connect instructors with colleagues who share a passion for language education.
