We’re excited to announce a significant improvement to how media settings are managed in your courses! Media settings—specifically Audio Transcripts, Video Transcripts, and Video Subtitles/Closed Captions—will no longer be controlled at the course level. Instead, they’ll now be managed at the section level and individual student level through a new page called Student Interaction Settings.
This update eliminates the need for an all-or-nothing approach that may have previously created pedagogical or equity challenges. Now, you can tailor media accessibility to better support the diverse needs of your students—without compromising your instructional goals.
Benefits include: Greater flexibility in how media settings are applied, educator control at the section level, personalized support for individual students, and improved equity in learning experiences.
We hope this change empowers you to create more inclusive and adaptable learning environments. Be sure to explore the new Student Interaction Settings page to get started!
