Language Connects Foundation (LCF) and Vista Higher Learning are thrilled to announce the launch of the year 2 of the LCF/Vista Microgrants Program, dedicated to supporting and empowering language educators committed to fostering multilingualism and cultural diversity in K-12 classrooms. This pioneering initiative provides small grants to educators who are passionate about teaching languages while integrating essential cultural elements into their curriculum. During the 2023-2024 academic year, over 100 microgrants were awarded deserving K-12 language and literacy educators!
Open to all K-12 language educators, regardless of their teaching setting, this program offers 100 microgrants of $300 each to fund a range of impactful projects between September 2024 and May 2025.
“Vista is thrilled to be partnering with the Language Connects Foundation on this new grant initiative,” shared Arturo Castillon, Vice President of K-12 Strategic Partnerships and LCF board member. “We know how hard all language and literacy educators work to provide the best teaching and learning experience for their students, and so anything we can do as an organization to help support them in their work is amazingly rewarding.”
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, allowing unsuccessful applicants from one cycle to reapply later in the school year. Applications are currently being accepted for the third funding cycle, which will close on November, 12, 2024.
We are excited to announce the second round of winners for the microgrants! See for yourself how some of them will be using the funds.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Vista Higher Learning to provide much-needed funds to deserving educators and bring cultural programming to fruition in their classrooms,” added LCF Director Kit Hall.
Language educators who are passionate about enhancing their teaching and fostering cultural diversity in their classrooms are encouraged to apply today.
