On behalf of Vista Higher Learning, we’re very pleased to welcome you to this inaugural edition of the VHL Newsletter, and what better time to launch it than our 20th anniversary! VHL has been part of incredible growth and change in the language learning community over the past 20 years. We have been pleased and honored to have played such an important role in so many of your language education journeys in that time.
Speaking of time, we all know we have reached a critical milestone in our nation concerning language education. According to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences’ Commission on Language Learning, “The ability to understand, speak, read, and write in world languages, in addition to English, is critical to success in business, research, and international relations in the twenty-first century.” As the only specialized Pre-K-Adult language learning company in the United States, we at VHL have committed our careers and resources to addressing language education needs and challenges.
Through this newsletter, we look forward to partnering with you, our customers and colleagues, to help inform and address issues affecting all of us.
We want to work with you to support strong, articulated world language programs, help your English Language and Dual Language students learn a new language as they become more proficient in their heritage language, introduce groundbreaking American Sign Language programs, and provide excellent professional development opportunities.
