Five Ways to Say “Thank You” to a Teacher

By- Erika Semprun

Do you want to express your gratitude to a teacher but a simple “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough? Here are five phrases that just might make your teacher’s day.

1. You’ve made a difference in my life.

Has your teacher stuck by you while you struggled academically? Were they there for you regarding a more personal problem? Teachers are more than just educators—they’re confidantes, and some even play the role of friend. If this is the case, let your teacher know that he/she has made a difference in your life.

2. Thank you for believing in my potential.

Did your teacher’s advice and actions inspire you to keep working? Did he/she strive to help you improve? Always let your educator know that they motivate you to keep going.

3. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Teachers give up their personal and family time to grade assignments, prepare lessons, and attend academic events. Remind them that their efforts mean a lot to youyou’re your classmates, and that what they do truly makes a difference.

4. You do so much. You deserve a break.

Sometimes it’s good to remind your teacher that although their hard work is appreciated, it’s also important for them to take a break for themselves. Teaching is a hard and stressful job, and a heavy workload will take a toll in the long run.

5. I appreciate everything you do.

Teachers don’t just teach. They prepare children for life and play many roles. This phrase says more than just “thank you.” It lets your teachers know that their impact goes beyond the classroom.
